Use the Map for Canvassing and Personal Territories

Explore geocoded Contact locations, filter Pipeline work, update exact pins, and draw personal Territory overlays.

Map Canvassing Territories Contacts Pipelines

Before you begin

The Map is available only when the workspace plan includes Map and your role has map.view. Contact visibility still follows Contact own/all scope, and Territory viewing requires territories.view or Map access.

Additional actions use their own permissions: Contact create/update/delete, Pipeline assignment, territories.create, and territories.delete. A Territory is always owned by the user who created it.

Open Map.

Explore locations

Map pins are geocoded Contact addresses, so one Contact can have more than one pin. Addresses without usable coordinates are not plotted.

  1. Pan or zoom to load the current viewport.
  2. Filter by Pipeline and Stage, archived state, own Contacts, radius, or sort order.
  3. Open Pipeline for authorized Opportunity cards.
  4. Use Reset to return to all Pipelines, all authorized non-archived Contacts, and the default sort.

Pipeline and Stage come from the Opportunity linked to that exact Address. Crewvana does not substitute a different or latest Opportunity.

Create or update a pin

Use the Map's placement/editor tools to create a Contact location or edit the selected Address. A saved edit can update the submitted coordinates, the exact linked Opportunity's Pipeline/Stage, and append a new note. It does not silently replace sibling Addresses or Opportunities.

When moving a pin, the new position remains pending until the server confirms the exact Address. If saving fails, retry while the draft is still visible. Removing an Address pin is separate from deleting its Contact; invoiced Contacts are archived rather than erased.

Draw a personal Territory

  1. Open Territories and select New Territory on desktop, or use Draw Territory on mobile.
  2. Add at least three distinct points. Desktop also offers Add point at center for keyboard use.
  3. Use Undo or Cancel while editing.
  4. Select Save Territory and optionally name it.
  5. Open the saved Territory to return to its polygon.

The polygon is a personal visual overlay. It does not assign Contacts, technicians, teams, Pipeline stages, canvass progress, or routes. Deleting a Territory removes only that overlay, not Contacts inside it.

Desktop and mobile differences

Desktop uses drawers for Pipeline, Territories, filters, and Map Style and includes a visible record-list alternative. Mobile owns a separate Map page with filter and layer sheets, touch-sized actions, and a simple no-results state. Both use the same server permissions and exact Contact Address identity.

If the Map cannot show data

  • Map is unavailable: confirm the plan feature and map.view permission.
  • No locations found: reset filters, move the viewport, and confirm the Address has valid coordinates.
  • Current location fails: browser denial, timeout, unsupported APIs, or an insecure context leaves the existing viewport unchanged.
  • Pipeline/Stage is rejected: choose a Stage that belongs to the selected Pipeline.
  • Territory will not save: add three distinct points and retry; a failed desktop save keeps the draft available.

Crewvana does not provide live representative location tracking, automatic Territory membership, route optimization, or canvass coverage history from this Map.
