Route at Least One Phone Number

Assign at least one phone number to a user or team so calls and texts reach the right place.

What you'll do

Set up routing on at least one phone number.

Before you begin

Make sure at least one phone number is available in Communications settings.

Follow these steps

  1. Open Onboarding from the sidebar.
  2. In Messaging, open Route at least one phone number.
  3. You will be taken to Phone Number Routing Settings.
  4. Edit a phone number and assign routing to a user or team.
  5. Save routing changes.
  6. Return to Onboarding and confirm the step shows Done.

How you'll know it's done

The step turns to Done once at least one number is assigned to a destination. Accepted routing fields include:

  • user_id or team_id
  • routing_user_id or routing_team_id

If you get stuck

  • Step still open: re-open the number and confirm routing is saved.
  • No number to route: complete phone number setup first.
