What you'll do
Create practical custom roles and avoid over-permissioning users.
Before you begin
Open Users Settings - Roles.
Follow these steps
- Open Onboarding and select Create roles and add your employees.
- Go to Users Settings - Roles.
- Create role profiles by responsibility (for example: dispatcher, technician, manager).
- Grant only the permissions required for each role's tasks.
- Assign roles to users and validate expected access.
- Return to Onboarding and confirm progress.
How you'll know it's done
You have at least one non-owner role and users can perform expected tasks without excess access.
If you get stuck
- Too much access: remove broad permissions and retest.
- Missing access: add only the exact permission needed.
- Onboarding step open: confirm both role and active user conditions are met.
